“The moon is chief over the night darkness, rest, death, and the waters.”
(Jan Baptista van Helmont, 1579-1644)
Beware the Midnight Omen and her wicked sister, the Silver Moon….
Silver Moon Deja vu
Thoughts ~ Time wreaks havoc upon the crew and myself. Some days seem to drag out forever – others pass by faster than I’m able to complete even the most mundane of tasks. Still, I wonder how my voyage would redirect itself should time be measured as the currents of the sea – constant, changing, unending.
For now – I choose to count my time by events, adventures that create strong men – events together make up the life of a PIRATE.
9 O’clock post meridiem ~ I have been voted Captain of the great merchantman, titled the Revenge. She was intended for other purposes but now sails the Caribbean seas – a vessel used for purposes which some would call ill and foul intent. I call these activities for what they are, governed under civil practices by those who call themselves crew – the Captain included. Our purpose is survival, a quest for discovery of uncharted seas and bounteous treasure (mind you, not all treasure is gold and gems). Indeed, we are free men and as such have awarded ourselves a unique title – a title which all men may call us…PIRATE.
(John Phillips, Capt.)
